Hot off the virtual presses, here's our official reaction to today's news regarding President Obama's upcoming trip to Copenhagen:

1Sky is very pleased to learn that President Obama will be attending the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen and sees the trip as yet another indication that he is the most engaged president ever on this issue. His attendance will show to the rest of the world that the United States is serious about fighting climate change and will provide a real boost to a process that is so critical to our planet and people. President Obama can use his international prestige to move other nations toward signing a legally binding treaty with strong short term cuts in greenhouse gas emissions.

Guest blog: 1Sky's Make-Art-For-Climate project

Over the last several weeks it has been amazing seeing all the photos coming in from 1Sky suppporters all over the country participating in Make Art for Climate events. People of all ages have been hard at work having lots of fun taking action to urge President Obama to lead in the climate fight. One such example is Chris Savage in Michigan. He wrote this post about it on his blog, Eclectablog. – Alex

I have spent quite a bit of time volunteering for the 1Sky Campaign through our local Michigan affiliate, Clean Water Action. 1Sky is a well-funded coalition of environmental groups promoting three major intiatives known as "1Sky Solutions": 5 million new green energy jobs, reducing global warming pollution and a moratorium on new coal plants.

This past month they've been promoting a fun project called Make Art For Climate.
