Join a Greenpeace climate rally this Saturday, Dec. 6

Posted by: Luis | December 3, 2008

As you read in Vivian's blog yesterday, the UN Conference on Climate Change (COP 14) is underway in Poznan, Poland. There's cautios optimism surrounding the conference, thanks in part to President-elect Obama's statement during the Global Climate Summit last month in which he expressed enthusiasm for the conference in Poland and promised his administration would mark a "new chapter in American leadership on climate change."

It's great that participants of the Poznan conference heard such encouraging words from Obama before heading to Poland, but they still need to hear from you. They need to know that we're ready for bold solutions to the climate challenge, for green-collar jobs and clean economy.

That's why this Saturday, December 6th, we'll be supporting Greenpeace members and others in holding rallies and taking photos at iconic locations in over 30 cities across the country to send the President-elect and everyone in Poznan a message: The American people are behind his efforts to rejoin the international community in solving global warming.

Greenpeace organizers and volunteers will be holding rallies in Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, and other cities and regions around the country. They will be deploying 30' by 50' banners at iconic locations in these cities, so come on out and help them make these events a huge success!
