New poll indicates that 75 percent of Americans support Green Energy policies
According to today's Washington Post, 75 percent of Americans said that President-elect Obama should implement policies to reduce global warming -- including half of Republicans.
It's not just that the public wants to see serious changes, they actually are optimistic about those changes occurring: More than two-thirds of Americans polled by the Washington Post and ABC News think that President-elect Obama, once in office, will be able to implement policies to reduce global warming.
This is welcome news. We still need to work to make sure that support grows for the changes that need to be made to reduce carbon emissions. Those changes will be hard and unless the people continue to demand them, it will be difficult for our leaders to oppose the oil and gas lobby-team. But this poll, which was conducted from Dec. 11 to 14 among a random national sample of 1,003 adults, is definitely welcome news.
