It’s been a tumultuous year. From witnessing ongoing war to fighting climate change to the nation’s economic decline, we’ve all had to endure many struggles this year. Yet despite all of these ongoing battles it’s good to try and maintain a positive frame of mind. That’s definitely the mind state I’ve tried to keep throughout the year, because I know that many people like me are working to make a change in our world.
A good amount of the work I’ve done this year has included pushing for green jobs initiatives in both my city and state, registering youth to vote, and holding youth retreats and events that engage many of the youth in my community. It’s great to know that many other youth throughout the country are doing similar activities that will help our environment, our people, and our nation.
I recently did an interview with Kristina Rizga of The Nation magazine to talk about work I’ve done this year in depth, as well as give some pointers to young up and coming activists who want to become more engaged in their community and help to be part of the change this world needs. I hope you enjoy it!
