Brighter Planet's Project Fund offering $5,000 to support great climate ideas

As the old saying goes, adversity is the mother of invention. With the planet and we who live on it facing some of the greatest adversity ever, it's the perfect time to put the potential of human invention to the test. 1Sky ally Brighter Planet is putting money on the line to get great green ideas going.

Brighter Planet's Project Fund "seeks to foster local leadership and seed worthy community projects that will help people fight or adapt to climate change." Current ideas include sending delegates to Cop15, encouraging eating locally grown food, and installing efficient lighting in a church. Anything is eligible as long as it seeks to help people fight or adapt to climate change. The next micro-grant voting ends on November 15 and projects can get up to $5,000 in funding. Anyone can then go in and vote up to three times for projects that they believe should receive the money.

Do you work with a smaller environmental organization doing work for climate? Are you planning a project around the Copenhagen climate conference or to urge the passage of a strong Senate bill? Apply at the Project Fund homepage then put out a call to your network to vote up your idea.
