John Hanson Montessori's School PTSA helped create a full day of environmental education for the students with guest speakers and visitors including a representative from the County Executive's Office. The Student Coalition presented issues to this representative regarding positive land use of vacant land adjacent to their school. Through out the day, the middle school created their own banner for the 1sky effort and the lower grades PreK -6th decorated 18" x 18" cotton squares with landscapes representing the beauty of nature in land, water and sky. These will be sewn together for a quilt. It was a wonderful day of environmental awareness and students, parents, teachers, administrators and the county government came together to learn, share and collaborate towards making positive changes in regards to environment.
