Send the Candidates a Message

Posted by: Phil | February 5, 2008

If you’ve been following the news recently, you know that we’re in the thick of a tempestuous primary season for Democrats and Republicans alike. Despite the fact that the Presidential candidates give four or five speeches a day, journalists and pundits seem determined to ignore substantive questions about climate change and green jobs. The League of Conservation Voters calculates that out of 2,830 questions asked of the candidates by TV reporters over the past year, only six covered global warming.

It’s time to make sure the candidates, media and voters hear our message.  Join us by letting the candidates know what we want in two ways: sending a message to the candidates, and downloading the tools you need to be a successful primary bird-dogging champion!

*Send a letter to the Presidential candidates urging support for the1Sky platform — go to www.1sky.org/candidateletter to take actiononline.

*Attend a campaign event near you in the coming weeks — go to www.1sky.org/primaries to get the tools you need.

Since October, 1Sky supporters  from all over the country have hit the campaign trail with provocative signs, green hard hats and Frosty the Snowman costumes.  We made our voices heard in New Hampshire and South Carolina — we’re sending the message to every Presidential candidate that climate change is a critical issue, and that bold action now through investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy can strengthen our ailing economy.

Show all the candidates that we want real leadership, carbon cuts, green jobs and no new coal plants.  See you on the campaign trail!
