1Sky 'storm' in Jackson, MI results in Rep. Mark Schauer committing to protect the Clean Air Act

On a warm and sunny Tuesday afternoon, about a dozen local activists from Clean Water Action and 1Sky donned raincoats and umbrellas in a "storm of support" for U.S. Rep. Mark Schauer.

Standing outside the freshman Democrat's Jackson district office, they chanted, "Spring Schauer for clear skies and clean power."

Group members said they were there to thank Schauer for his support of clean energy legislation and to ask him to oppose recent efforts by several key Republicans to overturn provisions of the Clean Air Act.

Schauer's chief of staff, Ken Brock, invited the group inside and reiterated Schauer's support of clean energy and the new jobs it could create. Brock also said that Schauer would oppose attacks on the Clean Air Act.
