1Sky joins Hands Across the Sand action in New Haven
More than 70 people turned out Saturday morning to join hands on the West Haven shore, part of a massive rally held on beaches around the United States to protest offshore drilling and promote clean energy. The non-political rally was sponsored in part, by Hands Across the Sand , a movement opposed to off-shore drilling and championing clean energy sources.
The Hands Across The Sand organization was one of twenty co-sponsors of the event, along with the Sierra Club, Audubon, Greenpeace, Defenders of Wildlife, Alaska Wilderness League, Ocean Conservancy, Friends of the Earth, Environment America, 350, Center for Biological Diversity and CleanEnergy.org, 1Sky, Energy Action Coalition, Surfrider, Oceana and others, as well as 27 additional “partner” organizations.
