Did you hear? Obama is listening to us!

I was so excited when I read this quote from an interview with President Obama published on Monday:

"If I am confident that all of the countries involved are bargaining in good faith and we are on the brink of a meaningful agreement and my presence in Copenhagen will make a difference in tipping us over the edge then certainly that's something that I will do."

This statement came just a short while after 1Sky and many of our allies launched petitions calling for President Obama to go to the U.N. Climate Change Conference in December to make sure we get a strong global deal to address the climate crisis.

It's great that President Obama is considering going to Copenhagen next month. He should be thanked for understanding that he could play a huge role in making a world agreement on climate actually happen.

We need him to decide to do that now. Not wait until it is on the verge of happening. He can play a huge role in making it happen.

We cannot let up now. We need to get as many people as possible across the country to sign the petition calling for President Obama to take bold leadership on climate change, including going to the U.N. Climate Change Conference in December. So, send this to your friends. President Obama is clearly paying attention; we need to keep up the heat until he is willing to use his leadership to make a true and lasting global plan to address climate change.
